Pete and I have worked together in creating, implementing, developing and enjoying my garden for twenty years. This started as a DIY project but my limited knowledge and skills quickly pointed me in the direction of finding some help. Initially attracted to Pete’s creativity, he created landscaping around the periphery of the house that has stood the test of time: attractive, simple, and inexpensive.

Over the years, the garden has grown and Pete has been involved with planting, mulching, configuring and re-configuring. He knows his plants and his trees. I have a rare tree in the back of my house that Pete planted fifteen years ago and which, as it developed more fully, proved to be beautiful and very useful for shade.

Overall, his work has been very satisfying and his prices reasonable. He is easy to communicate with. From start to present, his creative eye and judgment have made his work very distinct and appealing.

Pete did an amazing job of transforming our uninteresting and traditional landscape into an assortment of natural and varied perennial gardens that are not only beautiful but magnets to all types of birds and butterflies. While the bulk of the work was completed in the first season, we had Pete return over several years to add to and refine the various garden areas. Our only requests were that the plants not require a lot of upkeep, be tolerant of the challenges of our climate, and as deer proof as possible – a big order! Each garden area has its own special needs for sun, shade, moisture, and soil. Pete’s knowledge of plants enabled him to find just the right combination for each area. We trust his taste and design ability, and tend to leave the decision on what to plant up to him. We are never disappointed! One of our greatest pleasures is seeing what comes up in the spring. In addition to the plants, Pete also did some lovely rock work, including various stone walls to encircle gardens and delineate the driveway.

Pete is a pleasure to work with. He completes projects in a timely way, and we trust him implicitly. We never feel that we have to be around or even in town when he’s working. In fact, it’s often a treat if we’ve been away to see some new project completed!
