After the design is perfected, there are three normal routes of implementing your green space:
1. We provide you with a list of local contractors - people that we directly know in the business and trust fully to bring our designs to life. Birdsong Garden Design will remain on the project to offer oversight and advice at crucial installation points.
2. If gardening is a passion of yours or even if you've never tried your hand at it before but are interested -- we can hand over the reins and offer additional personal consultation as needed to help walk you through implementing the design yourself.
3. When suitable, Birdsong selects a limited number of projects to personally install and further your vision. If this is the case, when we provide our final design for the landscape garden to you, we will also provide a thorough estimate of Phase 1 costs as well as ballpark estimates for the other phases.
Additionally, if a designer has already laid out the framework and design for a landscape change, we can help make that particular design come to fruition by connecting you with our contractors, offering individual consultation/advice to you if you decide to implement it personally, or at times, executing the design ourselves.
In our Before picture, we can see that the land has been roughly graded with the gravel piles being the foot of the terraces. Our After picture comes to life with the herbs, edibles, and other plants effectively stabilizing the hillside while being tucked into stacked stone terraces with pea gravel pathways weaving through. Important to our client here was the ease of walking through the gardens as well as assurance that materials used to create the landscape slowed runoff water. In this particular case, Pete's design will "bear fruit" (in the form of rosemary, oregano, thyme, bay leaf, and other edibles) for decades to come - and offers a gorgeous landscape as a focal view from the house.
